I have officially written and deleted this opening sentence about nine times, because how are you supposed to write about parents losing a teenage daughter to leukemia? 

They know where she's at...

Should I change the word "losing" to "she died" or "she passed"...  

How do you start a sentence like that?
How do you support friends who have experienced that?

How do you live with a loss like that?

In memory of her beautiful daughter, Katie Robertson wrote two books to celebrate Karina Jean. This evening I had the pleasure of purchasing one of those books.
