3/13 Walking the Harbor

Met a friend for a "walk in the Harbor"
Walking in the rain
Talking about the world's pain
As it spits
We dream
because it will always come down
- the rain -
- the pain -
Where will we find the that safe place?
Apparently not in the face of those who walk past
they keep their eyes downcast
is it because of the rain, their own pain, pride, 
or because looking down they can hide
from those who might try to peer into their lives
in a way just to say hi - is it too much?
If it were sunny would the response be different?
If there were no rain or pain - would I - would I be different?
Walking in the harbor, but I do not know if it is a safe one - yet.
