9/17 Honoris Causa

That is Latin for  -  "As in doctorate, an honorary degree"


And that is what our friend Pete is getting at "The" Ohio State University.
I can't remember the fancy title of his "Honoris Causa" program, but it has something to do with Romans and Latin. 
But it doesn't really matter, because we didn't talk about that at all, we just hung out with he and his wonderful wife and their families and their other friends. The kids swam in the rain and a glorious time was had by all. 


Including the time we passed the street where the party was being held, because it was a new neighborhood.  


And to toast the friendship that my husband and Pete have together:
